Sullivan East High School is a 9th through 12th grade high school located in Bluff City, Tennessee. The School opened its doors to students in 1969. Prior to the completion of Sullivan East High School students in the area attended Bluff City High School, Mary Hughes High School and Holston Valley High School. Sullivan East High School has around 1000 students annually. The three middle schools that feed into Sullivan East are Mary Hughes Middle School, Bluff City Middle School, and Holston Valley Middle School. Sullivan East is part of the Sullivan County school system. The school's mascot is the patriot. The current principal is Angela Buckles. Current assistant principals include Janet Bailey, Rick James, and Greg Stallcup.

Mission Statement:
Sullivan East High School, through the combined efforts and resources of its faculty, students, parents, and community, is committed to achieving individual excellence in the education of its students to prepare them to be successful in the Twenty-First Century[2].
Beliefs:
In October 2002, Sullivan East High School was forced to temporarily close its doors when five of nine classrooms tested for black mold came back with positive test results[4]. During the removal process of the black mold students attended class in skyboxes at the nearby Nascar racetrack Bristol Motor Speedway.
